About The Band
Jason Mercer
Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, Jason comes from a musical and artistic family and has been playing music, recording and touring since his teens. He was a founding member of Canada's Bourbon Tabernacle Choir and had toured and recorded with great musicians such as Ani Difranco, Ron Sexsmith, Sarah Harmer to name a few, before moving to Brooklyn, NY to expand an already vast musical landscape.
A multi instrumentalist, he has studied with such names as Orin O'brien (NYC Philharmonic), Gerald Cannon (bassist for recently passed jazz giant, Elvin Jones), Bill Keith (Banjo master) Michael Moore, to name a few.
Jason's love for acoustic and roots music has found a home in Crescent and Frost's warm mix of sound and harmony.
